I am an avid crocheter, I am also getting ambitious and will be stock piling the things that I make so I can sell them later this year. I will be posting photos of my work and short blogging about it. I look forward to sharing my projects.
Crocheting helps me focus on something other than life. I normally put my headphones in listen to my Audiobooks and crochet the night/day away. I learned to crochet from my Grandmother and Mom about 3 years ago, we had a garage sale and I found Granny’s yarn stash, knitting needles and crochet hooks in a basket for sale. I got to keep a bit of it though I should have kept the knitting needles too.
Here are a few of the things I have made so far:
The white hat is a purchased pattern from http://www.thevelvetacorn.com which has many beautiful patterns for sale. Childrens and Infants hats for winter. These are some of my favorite things to give as gifts.
My first pair of slippers made took me a while to finally get them done but I finished them today June 10.
And my hook caddy, it took my a few times to finally get the pattern right…maybe if I followed the instructions the first time it wouldn’t have taken so long to finish.
I made my first shrug over the last 2 days. (Finished Sept 17/14) Well, it’s not for me it’s for my daughter. I can’t wait for her to see it in the morning. Another quick and easy thing to make that would be a perfect gift!
Started my hand at a corner to corner blanket, it’s a work in progress (about 7 hours so far) that I’ve been working on off and on for about a month now, it takes a lot of patience. As do many other things.
